In a heartrending incident of filicide, a man is accused of brutally killing his two children in Tripura’s Gandacherra subdivision. The accused has been arrested, and the incident has triggered widespread outrage in the area.

The incident took place on Saturday morning at the Bru Settlement Camp in Ultachera ADC Village under Gandacherra subdivision of Dhalai district. According to preliminary reports, the accused, identified as Lalchuanama Bru, allegedly returned home in a heavily intoxicated state and first attacked his wife, Ramtaru Bru.

The woman reportedly managed to escape from the house with one of her children. However, a four-year-old son and a 12-year-old daughter were left inside.

Police said the accused allegedly assaulted the two children with a wooden log, resulting in their deaths on the spot.

Following the incident, police arrested Lalchuanama Bru and launched an investigation into the case. The bodies of the two children have been kept at the Gandacherra Sub-Divisional Hospital mortuary for post-mortem examination.

The gruesome incident has sent shockwaves across the region, with residents expressing grief and disbelief over the brutal killing of the two innocent children. Police are continuing their investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the crime.
