Durga Puja festivities strengthening mutual bonding of people, CM

The festivities of Durga Puja celebrated across Tripura with religious fervor and enthusiasm and ends with a peaceful note and being celebrated by tribal and non-tribals as greatest festival of the state and strengthening the mutual boding of people, said Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha.
Addressing a large gathering at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan in Agartala on Saturday evening during ‘Sharad Sanman-2025’ by Information and Cultural Affairs (ICA) department, Dr Saha said that the clubs and different organizations of the state along with celebration of Durga Puja festival are engaging themselves with different cultural and social works round the year.
He urged all clubs and organizations to devote themselves to cent percent social work with responsibilities and should take an active role to abolish drug menaces from society.
“The government and the society is not different and a government can accomplish all the social works alone, the government needs active participation of all to create a good society,” said Dr Saha.
Highlighting the ‘vocal for local’ slogan by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Dr Saha said that clubs and organizations have responded to this slogan actively, which has given major benefits to the local artisans. He also stressed on workshops for pandal decorations, clay made idols and illuminitions in participation of local artisans, said Dr Saha.
During the programme Chief Minister awarded different clubs of the state for the puja pandal, decorations and for idols and also awarded clubs for their colourful participation in the “Mayer Goman”, the immersion carnival in Agartala, which was held on October 4th last.
Tribal Welfare Minister Bikash Debbarma, Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) Dipak Majumder, secretary of ICA department Dr PK Chakraborty and secretary of the department Bimbisar Bhattacharjee along with other dignitaries were present.
