Ensuring quality education state to get another Kendriya Vidyalaya: CM
In a significant stride towards ensuring quality education for all children in the state, the government of Agartala, led by Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, has submitted a proposal to the Union Ministry of Education for the establishment of a new 'Kendriya Vidyalaya' school in Udaipur, located in the Gomati district.
While replying to a Calling Attention Notice brought by MLA Abhishek Debroy, regarding the need for setting up of Kendriya Vidyalaya at Banduar in Gomati district, Chief Minister who is also Education Minister of Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Saha, who also serves as the Education Minister of Tripura, emphasized that Kendriya Vidyalaya schools are being established in various states across the country as part of an initiative by the Union Ministry of Education, approved by the Central Board of Secondary Education.
"The primary objective of establishing these schools, which follow a uniform curriculum nationwide, is to provide quality education to the children of central government employees when they are transferred from one location to another. These schools also admit students from state government employees and the general public in the remaining seats," Dr. Saha explained.
Furthermore, he informed that it has been mandated to establish at least one Kendriya Vidyalaya in each district of India, in accordance with the regulations set forth by the Kendriya Vidyalaya organization.
"To date, a total of 9 Kendriya Vidyalaya schools have been inaugurated in our state. Additionally, we have submitted a proposal for the establishment of another Kendriya Vidyalaya in Banduar, Udaipur, Gomati district. As part of this endeavor, 10 acres of land have been allocated, and temporary arrangements have been made, including classrooms, toilets, electricity connections, drinking water facilities, and accommodation for students and teachers, at a cost of Rs 25 lakhs," the Chief Minister stated.
The proposed Kendriya Vidyalaya in Udaipur, once approved and operational, will contribute significantly to the education sector, enabling students from various backgrounds to access quality education on par with national standards.
