Four Bangladesh nationals and an Indian human trafficker arrested from Boxanagar border
Again on Tuesday four Bangladesh nationals and an Indian human trafficker were arrested the Border Security Force (BSF) from Najurpura border area adjacent to border pillar 2064/3-S, under Golachipa Border Outpost (BOP) of Boxnagar under Sepahijala district.
Sources said that the detained Bangladeshi youths had illegally entered the Indian state of Tamil Nadu a few months ago for jobs. They were attempting to cross the border to return home during the Eid holidays with help of an Indian tout from the Adampur border area at a cost of Rs 7,500 per person. The Indian tout, identified as Yusuf Mia, is a resident of the Jumer Tilla area. However, due to strict surveillance by the jawans of 49th BSF Battalion, their crossing attempt failed, and they were apprehended.
During preliminary investigations and interrogation by BSF, arrested Bangladeshi revealed that they had illegally entered India from Bangladesh and were working at a garment factory in Tamil Nadu. They had been staying there for a long time using forged documents and after interrogation, the five were handed over to Kalamchowra police station on Tuesday for further legal proceedings.
Arrested Bangladesh nationals were identified as Mohammad Rana, Mohammad Kawsar, Enamul Islam, Ujjal Hossain, and the Indian tout Yusuf Mia and they hailed from different districts of Bangladesh, including Magura, Gazipur, and Tangail.
According to police sources, case number 44/25 has been filed against them. Charges have been brought under sections 249(C)/143(3)/61(1)BNS of the Foreigners Act and border security laws and arrested Bangladeshi along with human traffickers were produced before the Sonamura Sub-Divisional Court on Tuesday with police remand appeals for interrogation.
