Four drug peddlers with Heroin arrested by East Agartala police
In a successful raid, the Agartala city police on Tuesday managed to arrest a gang of drug paddlers involved with selling contraband items in front of schools and colleges in different parts of the city.
Speaking with media persons at East Agartala police station on Tuesday, SDPO(Sadar) Debaprasad Roy said that police in plain clothes were monitoring the activities of some drug peddlers , who were often sale drugs to youth in front of different school and colleges in different parts of Agartala. Then, police led by OC of East Agartala police station, Rana Chatterjee formed different teams and they started raids in plain clothes.
On Tuesday, plain clothes police teams with motorbikes were managed to arrested four drug peddlers in front of MBB College and Mahatma Gandhi School, said Roy and added that during search, police has recovered 210 filled vials of Heroin weighing 5.2 grams, cash Rs. 5000 and a motorbike under their possessions, which has been used for transportation of drugs to one part to another part of the city.
He said that a specific case under the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act 1985 has been registered and all four arrested drug peddlers were produced before a local court with police remand appeals for interrogation.
