Govt initiates floating power platform in Dumbur lake

A total investment of Rs. 2000 crore has been utilized in the past five years for improvement of power transmission and distribution lines, said secretary of Power department Brijesh Pandey.

A total investment of Rs. 2000 crore has been utilized in the past five years for improvement of power transmission and distribution lines, said secretary of Power department Brijesh Pandey.

Addressing a press conference here at Civil Secretariat on Wednesday afternoon, Pandey said that in order to strengthen the power transmission lines and seamless power supply round the clock, the department will utilize a sum of Rs. 1950 crore in next three years.

He said that to fulfill the dreams of Prime Minister Narendra Modi power for all, the department is working round the clock and to develop the renewable energy of the state, the department in association National Thermal Power Corporation Limited (NTPCL) will install floating power platform in Dumbur lake with a capacity of 130 MW.

He said that the government has not increased the electricity rates for the last five years to ensure affordable and reliable power to all.
