One person was seriously injured in a head-on collision between two goods carrying vehicles on the Assam-Agartala National Highway at Block Chowmuhani area of Kumarghat under Unakoti district on Wednesday afternoon.
Local sources said that, the accident occurred when a Bolero goods vehicle bearing registration number TR 02 L 1926 collided head-on with a four-wheeler mini- truck bearing registration number TR 02 J 1860, which was coming from the opposite direction.
A 40-year-old man identified as Arbin Sahani, who was travelling in the mini truck, sustained serious injuries in the accident. Although originally from Bihar, Sahani has been residing in the Uttar Pabiacherra area of Kumarghat for several years in connection with his work.
Following the accident, local residents rescued the injured man and rushed him to Kumarghat Sub-Divisional Hospital. After receiving initial treatment, his condition reportedly deteriorated, and he was referred to Kailashahar District Hospital for advanced treatment, according to local residents.
The incident caused concern in the area, while further details regarding the circumstances of the collision are awaited.
