Home dept approves Chief Minister’s medal for 14 police personnel on Independence Day

The Home department of Tripura government has approved the conferment of the prestigious Chief Minister’s Medal to 14 police officers and personnel for their commendable service in different fields of police administration before the celebration of Independence Day.
The Home department of the state government in an order to the Director General of Police (DGP), signed by Deputy Secretary Sumita Chakraborty informed the DGP over government’s nod to honour officers for outstanding contributions in areas including law and order management, anti-insurgency operations, cybercrime investigations, anti-narcotics drives, community policing, training innovations, armed battalion duties, sports, and high-profile criminal investigations etc.
Among the recipients, Krishnendu Chakravertty( IPS) DIGP (Crime and Intelligence), will be awarded with Chief Minister Medal for exceptional field intelligence collection, Kanta Jangir (IPS) former SP (Unakoti) and incumbent SP of Traffic unit , is honoured for law and order handling in extremely difficult situations. Jeremia Darlong, Additional SP of Unakoti district, will be awarded for anti-insurgency operation and law and order and Nirdesh Deb, Additional SP (Cyber Crime), for complex cybercrime investigations.
Other awardees include Sougat Chakma, SDPO(Gandacherra) for anti-narcotics operations; Jayanta Karmakar, SDPO(Kailashahar) for handling for law and order in extremely difficult situations and Raju Reang, Additional SP (SB) for community policing. Jay Prakash Yadav (Subedar-GD) and Sankar Rudra Pal (SI) for use of innovative methods in police training, Debajit Bhattacharjee (SI) for intelligence collection.
The list also named Rakesh Debbarma, Nayeb Subedar pf 13th battalion TSR for armed battalion operations, Mouchaity Debnath for national-level sports achievements, and inspectors Suman Ulla Kazi and Women Inspector Madhabi Debbarma for solving sensational and heinous crimes.
