Janjatiya Gourav Divas observed at BBM College
A very timely and pertinent programme titled “Janjatiya Gourav Divas on 150th Birth Anniversary of Birsa Munda” has been organized in the Conference Hall at BBM College on 20th November, 2024 in presence of quite a large number of students, faculty members, invited guests, dignitaries and resource persons.
Dr Jiban Krishna Patra, Academic Convenor of BBM College presided over the programme while sharing the dais with Dr. Bindu Ranjan Chakma, Associate Professor of MBB University, Smt. Bhakti Mohanti, Retired Associate Professor, Dr. Smita Debbarma, Joint Secretary of Teacher’s Council, BBM College after the colourful inauguration of the programme. Smt. Rajlaxmi Chakma, Convener of the programme, delivered her warm welcome address to all and briefly touched upon the relevance of the programme. In the speech Dr.Smita Debbarma put emphasis on the contribution of Birsa Munda for the society. Smt. Bhakti Mohanti, Retired Associate Professor, resource person, talked about various contributions of Birsa Munda which are profound for the tribal communities. Dr. Bindu Ranjan Chakma, resource person delivered enkindled the spirit of inquisitiveness on Birsa Munda, a prominent tribal leader and freedom fighter who’s efforts to protect the land rights, culture, and identity of the tribal communities make him a significant figure in Indian history, and the day serves as a tribute to his legacy. Dr. Jiban Krishna Patra went eloquent in praising the efforts of the organizer.
He also delivered some thoughtful opinions on the topic of the programme. Last, but not the least, Dr. Abhijit Das, Assistant Professor, BBMC thanked everyone present for making the programme a grand success. He extended his special thanks to the resource person and other guests for extending their kind cooperation and for gracing the occasion by their presence. In his Vote of Thanks he also expressed his gratitude to all faculty members and participants whose work and efforts have realized the programme.
