Juicy diplomacy: Bangladesh PM sends mangoes to Tripura CM Manik Saha
In its annual tradition towards mutual bonding among two neighboring countries, the Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday send a cargo, packed with delicious mangoes, which has arrived at Agartala through the Agartala-Akhaura Integrated Check Post (ICP) towards a gift for Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha.
The Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has sent the gift of 500 kilograms of mangoes to the Chief Minister as a part of ‘Fruit Diplomacy’.
Assistant High Commissioner of Bangladesh in Agartala, Arif Mohammad, along with First Secretary of the Embassy, Rezaul Haque Chowdhury, First Secretary Al Amin and other embassy officials, were present at the Akhaura border to receive the cargo.
Arif Mohammad expressed his joy at the occasion, stating that it was a remarkable day as Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had sent approximately 500 kilograms of mangoes for Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha.
“The mangoes were received through the Agartala-Akhaura Integrated Check Post, and they have also handed them over to these mangoes to the Chief Minister at his official residence on Thursday afternoon. This gesture not only brings joy but also serves as a reminder of the deep-rooted relationship between Tripura and Bangladesh, said Arif Mohammad.
This is not the first time that mangoes were sent by Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina , earlier she has also sent Hilsa fish and mangoes every year. Sheikh Hasina had also sent mangoes to the Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee.
The Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha through his social media posts has expressed gratitude towards the Prime Minister of Bangladesh on behalf of the state's people and said that the officials of the Assistant High Commissioner of Bangladesh handed over the mangoes to him at his official residence on Thursday evening.
