Land Ports Authority of India (LPAI) successful launched Land Port Management System (LPMS)
The Land Ports Authority of India (LPAI) proudly announces the successful launch of the Land Port Management System (LPMS), on Tuesday at Land Port Agartala. The event marks a significant advancement in India's efforts to modernize cross-border trade at its land ports.
Aditya Mishra, Chairman of LPAI, inaugurated LPMS in the presence of esteemed guests, government officials, and representatives from the trade and transport sectors. LPMS will act as a digital single window system to streamline cross border trade.
LPMS includes a user-friendly online booking system that allows for efficient scheduling of cargo trucks, as well as automated systems for weighment, parking, warehousing management and integrated payment for port tariffs. These features streamline the flow of goods and improve the overall management of cargo.
LPMS employs digital solutions to simplify and accelerate regulatory approval processes, promoting transparency and efficiency. The system integrates with national databases such as VAHAN, SARATHI, and ICEGATE, enabling quick access to essential trade and cargo information, which is crucial for modernizing and improving procedures.
The system is further augmented with Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras and boom barriers at critical checkpoints within the land port. These tools will automate the verification process for the entry and exit of cargo trucks, enhancing security and reducing manual intervention.
In addition, LPMS will utilize artificial intelligence and machine learning modules to provide predictive data analytics. These advanced capabilities will support better business decision-making and the optimization of land port operations, contributing to greater effectiveness and increased throughput.
The launch event highlighted the key features and benefits of the LPMS, showcasing its potential to reduce logistics costs, improve operational efficiency, and ensure robust security measures. Starting with Land Port, Agartala, LPMS expected to have a transformative impact on cross-border commerce. It will soon be replicated across all land ports.
In his address, Aditya Mishra emphasized the importance of the LPMS in strengthening India's trade infrastructure and LPAI’s commitment to adopting cutting-edge technologies for the benefit of the nation and its trade partners.
LPMS is a milestone in LPAI's mission to enhance the infrastructure at India's borders, reflecting the government's dedication to fostering economic interactions and strengthening ties with neighbouring countries.
The Land Ports Authority of India extends its gratitude to all participants and contributors who made the launch event a resounding success and looks forward to the positive changes LPMS will bring to India's land ports.
