In a bizarre incident, a mad dog on Thursday gave bites to at least 25 people, mainly pedestrians at the national highway portion of Briddhinagar to Kashipur and all injured persons were hospitalized.
Sources said that a white colour canine running through national highway from Briddhinagar to Kashipur area and on his way, whenever he saw people walking and standing in the street give bites to them and left the spot. Similarly, the berserk dog continues his attack and bites one after another and keeps his running.
Within a few minutes, the mad canine attacked at least 25 people and all of them were shifted to rabies clinics of IGM and GB Hospitals.
Speaking with media persons, some injured persons and suffered dog bites said apparently the berserk white colour dog seems to be a pet dog and local people had also tried to catch him but were unable.
While, local people has also informed the matter to police, but till last report, the police and Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) personnel were unable to catch the dog, which created panic among the local people and pedestrians moving through portion of NH from Briddhinagar to Kashipur areas, at the outskirts of Agartala.
