Mahila Praharis of BSF foils major smuggling attempt at bordering Rahimpur, Tripura
In an attempt to foil major smuggling attempt, alert Mahila Praharis of BSF fired two rounds from lethal weapon in compelling circumstances when a large group of smugglers armed with sharp edged weapons forcibly attempted to carry out smuggling of contrabands on Sunday early morning in bordering areas of Ashabari village of Rahimpur under Sepahijala district.
The alert Mahila Praharis successfully foiled a major attempt of smuggling in the area of Border Outpost (BOP) Ashabari under Sepahijala district and a huge quantity of sugar and other contrabands were recovered.
BSF of Tripura Frontier through a press statement said that in another operation on 11th January 2025 afternoon, BSF troops of BOP Gournagar under district Khowai apprehended 3 Bangladeshi nationals while they were trying to cross over to Bangladesh. Apprehended Bangladeshi nationals are resident of Brahmanbaria district of Bangladesh. During questioning by BSF , apprehended Bangladeshi nationals revealed the identity of Indian tout and Bangladeshi tout involved in facilitating crossing of border.
In addition adopting Non Lethal strategy BSF troops successfully foiled several attempts of infiltration and smuggling, rescued 10 cattle, seized 1000 kgs of sugar, 16 kg ganja, huge quantity of clothing items, medicines and other contraband worth more than Rs 50 lakh.
BSF is maintaining a high level of alertness on the international border to prevent infiltration and trans border crimes.
