Manik Dey new convener of Tripura Left Front

Veteran CPI (M) central committee member and former Minister Manik Dey has been unanimously nominated as new convener of Tripura Left Front committee on Wednesday.

On Wednesday, a meeting of all political parties of Tripura Left Front was held at CPI (M) state headquarters in Agartala under the leadership of CPI (M) state secretary and opposition leader Jitendra Chaudhury.

During the meeting all Left Front alliance partner leaders from CPI(M) CPI, RSP and Forward Bloc unanimously appointed former minister Manik Dey as new convener of Tripura Left Front committee replacing veteran leader Narayan Kar, who was recently made special invitee member of the state secretariat of CPI(M) , who is now above 75 years of age.

After his appointment, Manik Dey said that all left democratic forces will strengthen their movement with an aim to defeat the divisive forces in coming days and added that LF  will launch a statewide movement soon against misrule of the state government.
