After a visit of a Congress delegation in communal violence affected the ‘Kaiturbazar’ area of Ranir Bazar under West Tripura district, on Thursday a team of opposition led by former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar visited the violence affected areas and met all victim families.
Former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar visited the scene of the brutal attack that took place in ‘Kaiturbazar’ area of Ranir Bazar where on August 25th night, a communal clash erupted at that village after defacing of the idols at a local Kali temple by ‘unidentified miscreants’ . Later, a group of unidentified miscreants attacked nearby areas and torched at least 16 houses, and burnt several vehicles on August 25 midnight, causing injuries to four persons.
Apart from Manik Sarkar, former minister Pavitra Kar, former Chief Executive Member (CEM) of Autonomous District Council (ADC), Radha Charan Debbarma, other left leaders were present at the time.
Later, speaking with media persons Manik Sarkar alleged that seeing devastation of attacks, it’s a pre-planned attack by miscreants and it was organized to create a division on the basis of religion keeping political thoughts in mind.
Sarkar urges the state government to take concrete steps to punish all miscreants involved in the attacks and compensate all victims’ families and should ensure proper securities of all minority families.
It may be recalled here that on September 17, Tripura Pradesh Congress president Ashish Kumar Saha and MLA Sudip Roy Barman visited the communal violence affected ‘Kaiturbazar’ area and also met all victim families.
