Massive fire in a running picnic bus after generator blast, 11 students, teachers injured
In a tragic incident as many as 11 persons including students and teachers sustained injuries after a massive fire engulfed in a running picnic bus at Jagatpur Chowmuhani area of Sidhai Mohanpur under West Tripura district on Sunday evening after a blast of a generator inside the bus.
Police sources said that three buses carrying a picnic party had gone to Baas Gram, a tourist destination, to enjoy the picnic from Champaknagar.
Police said that all three buses were CNG run buses and the incident occurred when the picnic party was returning to Champaknagar in West District from their picnic venue on Sunday evening and fire broke out in a bus after a blast in a generator kept inside the bus.
Police added that 11 persons including a few students and their teachers were injured after a massive fire broke out in the bus.
Immediately, police and firefighters rushed to the spot and with help of local villagers all persons boarded in the bus were rescued and all injured persons were shifted to a local hospital and among them six were referred to GB Hospital. Police added that all the injured persons are in stable conditions .
Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha through his social media has expressed his deep concern over the mishap and prayed for speedy recovery of all injured persons.
The Chief Minister through his social media post said that “Deeply concerned about the unfortunate incident in Mohanpur, where a picnic bus caught fire following a generator blast. Praying for the speedy recovery of the individuals injured in this tragic event. Six of the injured have been referred to GB Pant Hospital for further treatment. We are closely monitoring the situation to ensure that the injured receive immediate medical attention. Urging everyone to be cautious and mindful while enjoying the picnic.”
CM Dr Saha emphasized that authorities are vigilantly monitoring the situation to ensure the injured receive prompt and adequate medical attention.
