Massive search in Rani Pukur, but no trace of suspected drowned boy
After day-long search by Firefighters and NDRF jawans at the ‘Rani Pukur’ (pond) near the state guest house at Kajurbagan area under New Capital Complex police station to recover a suspected drowned boy, but till 10 PM of Sunday night.
While, the NDRF jawans will again resume their search operation to find the alleged drowned boy in the first light of Monday.
Giving details OC of NCC police station, Sushanta Deb said that few local persons of Kajurbagan and Goyala Basti areas had noticed that an unknown boy drowned in the pond water on Sunday afternoon, when that boy tried to take bath in the pond water.
After the incident report, police and firefighters rushed to the spot and a big team of firefighters through their hectic search and rescue operation did not find anything in the pond water, even firefighters used big fishing net.
Later, in the evening NDRF jawans were pressed into action and their intense search up to 10 PM, the team did not find anything, said OC.
He added that based on the statements of witnesses, the NDRF jawans will again resume their search operation at the first light of Monday morning. While, OC Deb cannot say anything when asked if it is only a mere rumour or really any boy drowned in the pond water.
