A 13-year-old boy, identified as Shantu Dutta, died tragically after drowning in a pond near his home at Rupacherra under the 29 Krishnapur Assembly constituency in Tripura’s Teliamura subdivision.
The tragic incident has cast a pall of gloom over the entire locality, leaving the boy’s family, relatives and residents in deep shock.
Local sources said that Shantu accidentally fell into the pond while playing near his house. He was reportedly suffering from epilepsy. Preliminary suspicions suggest that he may have been unable to regain his balance or save himself after falling into the water due to his medical condition, eventually leading to his death by drowning.
The untimely death of the young boy has left the local community grieving. At an age when he should have been enjoying his studies, games and childhood, Shantu’s life came to a tragic end, plunging his family and the entire area into mourning.
