Miscreants attack passengers in Subal Singh area of Agt-Khowai route
Once again, miscreants attacked passengers by stopping vehicles and looted their valuable items on Thursday night Subal Singh area in Agartala-Khowai route.
Sources said that such attacks on passengers travelling Agartala-Khowai route via Subal Singh areas under Sidhai Mohanpur police station are often treated as a nightmare for daily office goers. After a break of the past few months, miscreants under the influence of drugs on Thursday night have also stopped passenger vehicles in the middle of hills and attacked them and ransacked their vehicle.
Sources said that a group of Rubber Board employees posted at Khowai was returning to their base through this road after completion of a meeting, held at Agartala. When their vehicle reached the hills of Subal Singh area, some of the employees went for nature calls by stopping their vehicle. When they started boarding the car, a group of 6 to 7 miscreants indiscriminately attacked them with sticks and tried to snatch their wallets and mobile phones. Miscreants had also ransacked their vehicle. By the time, miscreants hearing the sound of another vehicle passing through this road, escaped towards deep jungle.
Later, injured Rubber Board employees identified as Amit Singh Yadav, Dipak Mandal, both are the field officers and one rubber dealer Bishal Debbarma sustained injuries and they somehow managed to reach the nearby TSR camp at Mohanbari area. From TSR camp, all the injured persons were shifted to Khowai hospital and after primary treatment; they were all released from the hospital.
On Friday morning after the incident came to light, panic gripped especially the daily passengers and office goers, who are daily travelling through Agartala-Khowai route via Subal Singh and urged the government to strengthen security in the hill areas for safety and security of hundreds of travelers.
