Miscreants kidnapped a driver, looted Rs 2.5 lakh cash from Bishalgarh bypass road
The Bypass road in Bishalgarh under Sepahijala district now turns into a nightmare for the commuters and vehicles, which are passing through this section of the national highway on their way in between to Agartala- Sabroom route and often encountered with miscreants, robbers and looters and lost their valuable items.
In such an incident on Saturday night, when a mini truck loaded with puffed rice and was returning from Sabroom after day long marketing.
When the mini truck reached the Bypass road of the Bishalgarh at about 10 PM on Saturday, a group of miscreants stopped the mini truck and kidnapped the driver along with his vehicle. They took him into an interior area and inside a rubber garden and severely thrashed him.
Miscreants had also phonbed to the owner of the puffed rice mill and demanded ransom. When the mill owner Ragunath Datta with his brothers rushed to the spot, they could not find their vehicle. Then, they informed the matter to Bishalgarh police station and with police forces, they started searching their vehicle and its driver, they found the driver Rakesh Hussain in a deep jungle lying in the ground with multiple injuries.
The mill owner said that miscreants looted away about Rs. 2.5 lakh cash from the driver and had also snatched away his mobile phone.
Police sources said that they have lodged a specific complaint and started investigation to identify miscreants involved with kidnapping and robbery.
