Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Thursday said more developmental changes will be undertaken at the historic Mata Tripura Sundari Temple in Udaipur under Gomati district as the Matabari Trust continues its efforts to enhance infrastructure and visitor facilities.

Speaking after a meeting of the Matabari Trust Committee at the Udaipur Circuit House, the Chief Minister, who also serves as the Trust's Chairman, outlined several decisions taken to ensure the smooth and successful conduct of the upcoming Diwali festival and Mela (fair) at the temple.

The meeting reviewed preparations for the annual fair, which attracts thousands of devotees and tourists from across Tripura as well as other parts of the country and abroad. Discussions focused on administrative preparedness, security arrangements, traffic management, infrastructure development and improving facilities for pilgrims visiting the revered shrine.

Among those present at the meeting were Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, MLAs Abhishek Debroy and Jitendra Majumdar, Gomati Zilla Parishad Sabhadhipati Debal Debroy, Chief Secretary JK Sinha, ICA Secretary Kiran Gitte , Gomati District Magistrate (DM) Rinku Lather and senior officials from various government departments.

Officials stressed the need to complete all preparatory work well before the festival. Special emphasis was placed on strengthening security measures, traffic regulation, drinking water supply, electricity, healthcare services, sanitation and other public amenities to ensure the convenience and safety of visitors during the fair.

The Diwali Mela at the Tripura Sundari Temple, one of the 51 Shakti Peethas, is among the largest religious and cultural events in Gomati district. Every year, the festival witnesses a massive influx of devotees, making advance planning essential for the smooth management of the event.

The Chief Minister said the government and the Matabari Trust are committed to further improving the temple complex and ensuring that devotees can offer prayers and participate in the festivities in a safe, orderly and comfortable environment.
