NCC Cadets undergo firing practice ahead of NER firing competition
The 15 Tripura Battalion NCC conducted a firing practice session and selection trials for cadets in preparation for the upcoming NER Firing Competition, which is scheduled to be held in April next.
The trials were organized over two days to identify skilled cadets who can represent the battalion in the regional competition. The practice and selection process took place at the TSR 2nd Battalion Firing Range on Thursday (March 12, 2026).
Speaking on the occasion, Commanding Officer Lt. Col. Rohan Gupta said that such training sessions are important to improve the shooting skills, discipline, and confidence of cadets. The trials aimed to select the best firers who will represent the battalion in the forthcoming competition.
Several officials were present during the firing practice, including Ex-Honorary Lieutenant Nirmal Das, Havildar Bijoy Jamatia, Havildar Rini Morju, and ANO Apurba Debbarma, who supervised and guided the cadets throughout the practice session.
The initiative helped cadets gain practical experience in firing techniques and competition standards, strengthening their preparation for the North East Region (NER) NCC Firing Competition.
