Netaji Subash’s 129 birth anniversary celebrated in Tripura with patriotic fervor
The 129th birth anniversary of great freedom fighter Netaji Subash Chandra Bose was celebrated across the state with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor on Thursday.
Like previous years, the main programme was held at Netaji Subash Vidyaniketan on Thursday morning, where Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha and other dignitaries including Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC), former MLA Dr Dilip Das and other local representatives were present during the inaugural programme for hoisting the national flag and the flag of Azad-Hind Fauz at the school premises.
In his inaugural address, the Chief Minister appealed to the students to motivate themselves with the ideology of Netaji and devote themselves for the services of the country. Later, in the programme, other dignitaries also delivered the addresses.
Speaking in the programme, headmaster of the school said they have been organizing the traditional procession on the occasion of Netaji's birth anniversary for the past 76 years to highlight the role, sacrifice and dedication of the freedom fighter and great son of India.
After inaugural programme, a big and colorful procession comprising more than 2000 students of the school from class three to class twelve participated in the procession and portrayed several themes by different groups of students, which showed , Azad Hind Fauz , traditional culture of India, mutual brotherhood among Hindu and Muslims , forestation, Jhansi Rani, incidents related to India's freedom struggle, traditional, forestation drive, anti-dowry movements, child education, domestic violence, sexual violence, Radha-Krishna dance, Bihu dance, Gujrati dance, Dandiya dance, awareness for crime against women, Jago Nari, save water theme and ethnic dances of India etc.
The role of Netaji and other freedom fighters in India's freedom movement, the dream of a united India by freedom fighters, India's cultural diversity and unity, harmony among Hindus and Muslims and other themes have also depicted in the rally. The procession passed through various thoroughfares of the capital city packed with huge crowds.
Meanwhile, reports from other parts of the state said, the 128th birth anniversary of Indian freedom fighter and founder of Indian National Army (INA) Netaji Subash Bose was celebrated with pomp and gaiety.
