Chief Minister Prof. Dr Manik Saha on Sunday said that with the launch of 24 state-of-the-art ambulance services, another new feather has been added to the state's health system. These are dedicated to all the people of Tripura. This service will greatly benefit critically ill patients.

Today, Dr Saha said this while flagging off 24 BLS (Basic Life Support) and ALS (Advanced Life Support) ambulances from the premises of the Chief Minister's official residence in Agartala.

Dr Saha said that about 24 ALS/BLS support ambulances have been provided today for the benefit of critically ill patients. Especially in cases of trauma, patients face great difficulties in many places.

“Many times, if there is no ALS/BLS system, many patients die on the road. To ensure that patients can be properly taken to hospitals from those places, 24 ambulances have been arranged today. These are very good vehicles from the Tata company. According to the report I have, the cost of each of these vehicles is around Rs 24–25 lakh. A total of around Rs 5 to Rs 5.5 crore has been spent on this,” he said.

The Chief Minister, who is also the Health Minister of the state, said that through this new ambulance service, another new feather has been added to the health system of the state.

“We want that there is no gap anywhere. The present government is working with that objective in mind. For this, I thank the Health Department. We are all working together. Four of these ambulances will be attached to the 102 service for mothers and children. The rest have been attached to the trauma care centers. Now they will get a lot of benefits. As soon as they receive a call, they will reach their destination. These state-of-the-art ambulances have been equipped with high-quality trolleys, which can be operated by one person. Patients can be lifted and lowered very easily. I dedicate these ambulances to all the people of Tripura. Whenever there is any difficulty, anyone can take advantage of this service. Trained staff will be provided in these ambulances. Arrangements will be made to provide primary care to patients, including maintaining proper blood circulation, proper respiration, etc. Appropriate training will be provided for this,” he said.

The Chief Minister was accompanied by Health Department Secretary Kiran Gitte, the Health Director, and other senior officials at the program organized on this occasion.
