Newly elected RS MP will play key role in building a prosperous Tripura: CM
Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr Manik Saha on Tuesday congratulated BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharya on his resounding victory in the Rajya Sabha election, stating that he will play a significant role in building a prosperous Tripura.
Voting for the lone Rajya Sabha seat in Tripura began at 9 am on Tuesday, with the polling process held in the lobby of the Tripura Legislative Assembly.
Rajib Bhattacharya, state president of the BJP, contested as the BJP candidate for the Rajya Sabha seat.
After casting his vote, Dr Saha expressed confidence in Bhattacharya's victory.
"We have nominated BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharya as our candidate for the sole Rajya Sabha seat. We have 47 votes, including those from the BJP, Tipra Motha, and IPFT, which will be in favor of Rajib Bhattacharya. His victory is confirmed," he said.
Later, after the results were announced, Dr Saha said, "Heartfelt congratulations to Rajib Bhattacharya Ji, President of Pradesh BJP, on his resounding victory in the Rajya Sabha by-election for the lone seat in Tripura. I firmly believe that he will play a significant role in our collective efforts to build a prosperous Tripura."
