The Agartala city police once again arrested a member of a thieves gang and recovered stolen items under his possession on Sunday.

Giving details SDPO (Sadar) Ajoy Kumar Das on the Diwali night, a gang of thieves raided the chamber of renowned Diabetologist Dr Mridul Das and stole all valuable items and raided his house. Suspected thieves have also stolen away some high value phones from his house.
After the incident was reported, police personnel from East Agartala police station started investigation and recovered all CCTV footage of the house and chamber. Based on the information found in CCTV footage, police detained some suspected thieves, but among them arrested one noted thief identified as Deep Bhattcharjee, who was a gang leader of thieves.
Police team also recovered some stolen items under his possession and forwarded him in a local court with police remand appeal for further interrogation.
Das said that after detailed interrogation, they will be able to recover other stolen items and other members of the gang involved in the stolen incident.
