Octogenarian woman died after cooking stove blast in Krishnanagar

In a tragic incident, an octogenarian woman died in her kitchen room after a kerosene oil cooking stove allegedly exploded, when she was busy cooking her food.
Emergency Response Support System (ERSS) of Tripura police sources said that on Friday noon they received a call in their toll-free number -112 over a burning incident at Banerjee Para area of Krishnanagar under West Agartala police station.
Immediately, an ERSS van rushed to the spot and they also informed the firefighters.
Police sources said that ERSS and Firefighters after reaching the incident spot, found that an octogenarian, identified as Bhanumati Acharjee (85) , had already been charred to death due to the blast fire.
While, the deceased woman’s son, Pradip Acharjee (58) and his wife Gopa Acharjee, who were living on the second floor of the house said they heard a sound of blast and rushed to the ground floor of the house, where his mother stayed. They also noticed amidst huge flames, his mother's body already burnt and she died on the p[sot.
Police registered an unnatural death (UD) case and started investigation over the incident.
