One NLFT (BM) rebel surrendered before BSF
One NLFT (BM) militant surrendered on Sunday in the area of Border out post (BOP) Manoranjan under Chawmanu area of Dhalai district before BSF authorities.
A BSF press statement said that in the wee hours of Sunday, one Uday Manik Jamatia, resident of village Tulsiram Bari under Killa police station of Gomati district, decided to leave the path of violence and surrendered to live a normal life and to involve in the main stream of the nation. The surrendered insurgent joined NLFT (BM) outfit in the month of September 2023.
Tripura state has been insurgency prone for last few decades. Due to endeavour of central agencies and state authorities, in recent past, several cadres of NLFT (BM) opted to return back to the mainstream of the society. Such example will certainly motivate the misguided youths to leave the path of violence.
