Police busted a gang of criminals in Sepahijala district, 10 arrested with arms
The Sepahijala district police of Tripura on Saturday busted a gang of criminals involved in different kinds of organized crimes including snatching etc and arrested six criminals along with a sophisticated pistol.
Giving details, Additional SP of the district, Rajib Sutradhar said that a group of criminals committed two crimes on May 17 and 20 last with robbery at Rastarmatha area of National Highway under Bishalgarh police station and based on two specific complaints, police team started investigation to nab all accused persons.
Based on the complaint of a snatching incident and clash among two drivers including a convoy driver of a union minister and civil driver, police has managed to arrested the mastermind, Sagar Bardhan alias Samardip form bordering Madhupur area, who along with his gang involved in number of criminal activities including snatching cases, said Sutradhar.
He said that based on the interrogation statements of arrested Sagar Bardhan, police arrested one of his accomplice Akash De and during search at his abandoned house at Madhupur area, police team recovered a sophisticated pistol.
The ASP said that on Friday night police had also arrested four other gang members from different parts of the district including Koushik Debnath, Arpan Sarkar, Sagar Nama and Raj Kumar Saha, who were involved in different organized crime.
Sutradhar added that during last one week, the police teams of Bishalgarh police station have already arrested a total of 10 criminals including their leader Sagar Bardhan and all of them were produced before a local court for further legal proceedings. He also said that investigation is going on and police are very much hopeful that they managed to arrest all criminals involved in different organized crime in and around Bishalgarh subdivision.
