Police not taking action against an extortionist, alleges a victim youth
Despite four FIRs filed against an extortionist, allegedly Agartala city police are not taking any action after a youth of Kunjaban area was continuously getting life threats.
One Subir Paul of Kunjaban Colony area of Agartala had filed an FIR at East Agartala police station against another youth of the locality identified as Ripan Roy alias Laxman, who allegedly threatening the victim youth to give a ransom of Rs. 27 lakh against a land of measuring 2 ‘Gandas’ in the same area, which has been registered in favour of Subit Paul donated by one of his aunty.
Disputing the ransom among, accused youth on behalf of ‘Kunjanban Sevak Sangha’ had often made phone calls with dire consequences, alleged Subir Paul.
He also alleged that on Wednesday, when he went to the Circuit House area, accused Ripan Roy had physically assaulted him and threatened to withdraw the FIR else he would see more action from.
On Thursday morning, victim youth Subit Paul along with his wife rushed to the East Agartala women police station and lodged another fresh FIR against Ripan Roy.
Speaking with media persons Subit alleged that due to political influences, police are not doing anything or not taking any legal action against accused Ripan Roy.
He urged the top authorities of state police to do something to protect himself and his family as they are receiving frequent life threats from that accused youth.
While, police said that they have registered the complaint and are not investigating the case. When asked why they are not taking any action against the accused person despite repeated complaints by the victim youth and his family members, police said that the matter is under investigation.
