Political clash at Baikhura, 8 injured

At Least 8 persons suffered grievous injuries after a political clash among the supporters of two rival parties held at Ananda Baidya Para area of Baikhura under South Tripura district on Wednesday night.
Sources said that among the injured persons, two were shifted to GB Hospital and Gomati district hospital after their conditions deteriorated.
Police sources said that a group of miscreants on Wednesday night attacked the house of one Mithu Majumder at Ananda Baidya Para village and set fire to the house. Miscreants had also physically assaulted many house members of Mithu Majumder. When all the house inmates and their neighbours resisted, few miscreants had also suffered injuries.
Later, a large number of police and CRPF rushed to the spot and shifted all injured persons into hospital. Among the injured, house owner Mithu Majumder and one BJP worker identified as Laichenga Mog shifted to GB and Udaipur hospitals.
