Power dept to introduce live power line repairing technology, Ratan Nath
Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath on Thursday said that Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited (TSECL) will soon introduce a live-line work technology that allows repairs on power transmission lines without power cuts.
Highlighting different key initiatives are being undertaken to further strengthen the state’s power infrastructure. These included Live-Line repair technology to avoid shutdowns during maintenance work, use of Drones for monitoring faults and maintenance of tower lines, surveillance for power theft, commissioning of mobile substations to ensure uninterrupted supply during disasters and measures to handle additional load during peak summer months.
Out of nine planned 132 KV sub-stations under the current project, eight have already been completed, while work is ongoing on the remaining two, said Nath.
He added that upgraded high-capacity cables are being installed along the Agartala-79 Tilla-Rukhia line and a new tower line from Ambassa to Gandacherra is under construction with support from the North Eastern Council (NEC).
The Minister directed the Power department officials to remain proactive in addressing consumer grievances and they should listen to the complaints patiently and ensure timely solution of power outage and other related problems.
