Power minster reviews post FEDCO services in 10 divisions, assured better services
Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath on Saturday attended a high level review meeting with all concerned officials of Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited (TSECL) to review the present status of power supply in 10 power subdivisions of the state after took over the services from FEDCO.
During the review meeting at the corporate office of TSECL in Agartala, Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath spoke to the AGM, DGM and senior managers in charge of Mohanpur, Hejamara, Bamutia, Lefunga, Ambassa, Manu, Chawmanu, Gandacherra, Satchand and Sabroom through video conference .
After first being informed about the electricity situation in the respective areas from the Additional General Managers (AGMs) of the respective Electricity circles, the Minister spoke to the Deputy General Managers (DGMs) and Senior Managers in charge of these power subdivisions.
The Minister said that the people of the concerned areas are expecting better service after the electricity service is transferred from the hands of the private company FEDCO to the hands of the TSECL. “Basically FEDCO has been excluded due to their service negligence, reluctance to implement public welfare decisions. In this situation, it is desirable that ‘Vidyut Nigam’ will work according to the trust and faith of the people of those areas,” said Nath.
Officials of TSECL have also assured the minister that they are ready to provide uninterrupted power services across all subdivisions and all workers of the Corporation are in the field.
Besides, the Minister also directed the officials of the concerned area to request the people of the area to pay the electricity bill on time. He also stressed on organizing awareness campaigns in this regard if necessary. In the review meeting, Minister Nath was accompanied by the Finance Director of TSECL, Sarbjit Singh Dogra, Additional General Manager Kanak Lal Das, DGM Corporate Shishir Debbarma and other officials.
It may be recalled here that on Friday, TSECL Kamalpur division of Dhalai Circle, Gandacherra Division and Manu Division, Mohanpur Division under Agartala Circle No. 2, Subroom Division of South Tripura Circle for customer services and payment of bills and collection of bills from customers has taken over from FEDCO. In view of the continuous complaints of customers against FEDCO, the state government and TSECL have taken the services into their own hands to improve customer services. As a result, TSECL has started working from Friday to provide all the services to all customers under these 10 power divisions. TSECL has also requested all power consumers not to maintain any transaction, electricity bill deposit or any other official connection with FEDCO.
