Raksha Bandhan festival strengthens atmosphere of harmony: CM
Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Thursday said that the present state government is determined to maintain peace and harmony in the state and auspicious festivals like Rakhi Bandhan further strengthen this atmosphere of harmony.
Dr Saha said this while inaugurating Rakhi Bandhan festival at Ramnagar branch of Prajapita Brahmakumari Ishwariya Vishwavidyalaya.
He emphasized that the Rakhi Bandhan festival serves as a reminder of the relationship and responsibilities among siblings.
"Since birth, people have been bound by this special bond. The Rakhi Bandhan festival not only strengthens the bond between brothers and sisters but also reminds society of its responsibility towards every woman. Hence, the significance of the Rakhi Bandhan festival is immense”, said Dr Saha.
During the event, Dr Saha said that the current state government in committed in empowering and safeguarding women.
“A quota of 33 percent has been allocated for women in government jobs. Various educational facilities have been provided, and resources have been allocated in the state budget to offer free scooty to exceptional girl students based on their performance in the higher secondary examinations,” said Dr Saha.
The Chief Minister said that the state government has given special importance to the upliftment of the socio-economic status of women as well as their protection.
Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation Dipak Majumdar and others from Prajapita Brahmakumari Ishwariya Vishwavidyalaya were present.
