Tripura’s renowned chemistry scholar and Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Ramthakur College, Agartala, Dr. Arijit Das, will be conferred with the State Civil Award for Scientific and Environmental Activities, 2026 on the occasion of Statehood Day on January 21.

Director of the Information and Cultural Affairs (ICA) Department, Bimbisar Bhattacharjee, informed that the award ceremony will be held on January 21, 2026, at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan, Agartala, as part of the Statehood Day celebrations.

Dr. Das has earned national recognition for his significant contributions to the field of chemistry. Leading scholars across India have lauded his work, particularly his invention of several innovative methodologies and chemical formulae.

Eminent academicians, including Prof. P. K. Chattaraj of IIT Kharagpur, Prof. A. K. Das, former Vice-Chancellor of Kalyani University, Prof. Samar Kumar Das of the University of Hyderabad, and Prof. G. N. Mukherjee of the University of Calcutta, has congratulated Dr. Das on his recent scientific achievements.

So far, Dr. Arijit Das has developed 19 methodologies and 36 chemical formulae, including three new methodologies and three formulae invented recently, marking a significant milestone in his academic career.
