Renowned Khol player died due to over dose of drugs
A professional and renowned drummer (Shree Khol , is a folk music instrument) died on Sunday morning at Bamutia area of West Tripura district due to over dose of injectable drugs.
Sources said that Prasenjit Sarkar, a 22 years old youth of Berimura area of Bamutia, locally very popular as ‘Shree Khol’ player, but he became prey of drug abuse and habitual drug addict.
Prasenjit belongs to a very poor family and lives with his mother and an elder brother and becomes addicted to synthetic drugs.
Speaking with media persons, his elder brother Pradip Sarkar said that during the past one and half years, Prasenjit started consuming different kinds of synthetic drugs and recently, he was admitted to GB Hospital with multiple diseases. After a month-long treatment and drug rehabilitation process, he became fit and returned to house. But, after a few days again Prasenjit started consuming drugs and in the early hours of Sunday died at his house due to over doses of drugs.
