Sanskrit week celebrated at CSU, Ekalavya Campus
Central Sanskrit University, Ekalavya Campus at Lembucherra celebrated Sanskrit Week from August 16 to 23. In the inaugural session of the same on August 16, Kalyan Narayan Bhattacharya, Lokpal, of Tripura government, graced as the Chief Guest. In his address, he opined that Sanskrit is the most structured and logically formed language in the world.
While in the valedictory session, Jogesh Chandra Debnath, former Head of Sanskrit Department, BBMC, Tripura, remained present as the Chief Guest. In his address, he highlighted the vast trove of knowledge embedded in Sanskrit Shastras and regarded it as the most scientific language befitting for Computer and artificial intelligence. Besides, Dr.Bhaskar Roy Barman, President of Bangla Sahitya Academy remained present as the Guest of honour.
Prof. Prabhat Kumar Mohapatra, Director of the campus, presided over both the sessions. In his address, he highlighted the contribution of Central Sanskrit University, Ekalavya Campus in promoting Sanskrit in the entire Northeast and even opined that this language is the epitome of Bharatiya culture.
On this occasion, a grand Sanskrit Awareness Rally was organized on 19-08-2024 by the campus at Agartala city in which all the students and staff participated. Besides, various kinds of Sanskrit literary events like Bhagavad Gita Kanthapath, Sanskrit Song, Sanskrit Dance, Sanskrit Essay writing competitions etc. were organized in which students from the campus and other institutions in Tripura participated.
