The capital city police, based on the suspicious movements, arrested seven Bangladesh nationals from Kali Bari area of Indranagar under NCC police station.
Giving details officer-in-charge (OC) of NCC police station Subir Malakar said that based on secret information over the movements of some Bangladeshi nationals in Kali Bari area of Indranagar, a police team raided that area and detained seven persons.
After primary interrogation it has been established all these seven youths are citizens of Bangladesh and in absence of any valid documents, police arrested them under Passport Act, said Malakar.
He added that on Saturday all seven youths were produced before a local court. He said that they are all from Rajshahi district of Bangladesh and identified as Sahidul Sheikh, Rabban Sheikh, Jahir Ali, Sajib Ali, Mesaban Ali and Maidul Islam.
He said that arrested Bangladesh nationals revealed that they had arrived in Agartala in search of work and as court sent them in judicial custody, police will interrogate them during their judicial custody over the reason for their visit to India without any valid documents.
