Emphasizing the importance of yoga for physical, mental, and spiritual well-being, Shyam Sundar Co. Jewellers observed International Yoga Day by organizing special yoga and meditation workshops in Agartala and Swarnagram on Sunday.
Yoga, an integral part of India’s ancient heritage, is widely recognized as an effective practice for maintaining good health and inner peace. With the belief that yoga serves as a bridge between human beings and nature, the company undertook the initiative as part of its social commitment to encourage citizens to lead healthier lives.
The workshops were conducted under the guidance of renowned Yoga instructors Rupan Paul and Niranjan Bhattacharya, who demonstrated various yoga techniques and meditation practices.
The first session was held at 7 AM at Sandhyanir and later at 9:30 AM at Apnaghar, a residential facility for elderly women. During the sessions, Yoga guru Rupan Paul shared valuable advice on maintaining physical fitness and mental wellness. Participants celebrated International Yoga Day through Yoga exercises, Pranayama, and meditation.
At the conclusion of the workshop, Shyam Sundar Co. Jewellers distributed fruits and essential items among the residents. A breakfast gathering was also organized, providing an opportunity for interaction and fellowship.
Later in the afternoon, at 3 PM, a similar workshop was conducted for over a hundred residential students of Swarnagram Shikshalaya. The young students, who regularly practice Yoga throughout the year under the supervision of Yoga instructor Niranjan Bhattacharya, began the programme with an impressive yoga demonstration. Their enthusiasm and participation added vibrancy to the event.
Speaking on the occasion, Rupak Saha, Director of Shyam Sundar Co. Jewellers, said, “This workshop is not a one-day event but part of a long-term process. Many participants at the elderly women’s residence are facing physical and mental health challenges, with some suffering from severe pain and discomfort. Therefore, therapy sessions were arranged after the workshop. Such initiatives are especially important for senior citizens in the later stages of life. Similarly, it is essential to cultivate interest in yoga among young students. Yoga not only helps maintain physical health but also balances the mind, brain, and spirit. It can play a significant role in overcoming mental health issues as well.”
The celebration of International Yoga Day by Shyam Sundar Co. Jewellers, involving participants from different age groups, concluded successfully in a joyful and inspiring atmosphere, promoting the message of holistic health and well-being.
