Six BD nationals, who illegally entered Tripura arrested from Airport
Six Bangladeshi nationals were arrested from Agartala (MBB) airport on Tuesday night for illegally entering into Indian Territory.
Giving details officer-in-charge (OC) of Airport police station, Abhijit Mandal said that after suspected movements of six youths were noticed inside the airport, police rushed to the spot and detained all of them.
During interrogation, detained youths revealed that they were from Bangladesh and wanted to travel by air to reach Kolkata and they were also sneaked into Indian territory without any valid documents or passport.
Mandal said that all of them were brought to the Airport police station and arrested under the Passports Act and have been produced before a local court on Wednesday for further legal proceedings.
He said that police investigation is on to find the route through which they entered the state. Tripura shares an 856-km-long international border with Bangladesh, parts of which are yet to be fenced.
