Six Bihar state drug peddlers including women arrested with Ganja

Altogether six residents of Bihar state including three women were arrested by police with dry Cannabis (Ganja) at Kalyanpur under Khowai district of Tripura during their transportation bid towards their native state.
Police sources said that during regular checking of vehicles at RS Para Naka point under Kalyanpur police station on Sunday afternoon, police detained a suspected Maruti Eco car with six passengers.
In the course of the search operation, police recovered a total of 20 kilograms of dry Ganja under the possessions of six persons including three women, who were travelling through a hired Maruti Eco car from Agartala to Bihar state.
Police added that all passengers of the car including the driver were arrested in a specific case registered under the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act 1985.
Arrested drug peddlers were identified as Sambu Kumar, Mantu Mandal, Abdesh Kumar Mandal, Anjali Mandal, Sangita Kumari, Lalita Devi and Goutam Debbarma (driver) of Lefunga area under West Tripura district.
All arrested drug peddlers were produced before a local court on Sunday with police remanding appeals for interrogation to get details of drug transportation networks.
