Smuggler arrested from bordering area PR Bari with Ganja

In continuation of anti-drug operations in the bordering Rajnagar area of South Tripura district, a joint team of police and BSF on Friday arrested a noted smuggler and recovered large quantities of dry cannabis under possession.

Police said that based on secret information , a joint contingent of police personnel from PR Bari police station and BSF jawans of 200th battalion raided the house of Dipak Das of Indira Nagar village under Kamalapur.

During the raid, the security forces recovered 70 kilograms of dry cannabis hidden in different secret locations of Dipak Das’s house.

OC of PR Bari police station Inspector Ratan Rabi Das said that they have arrested house owner Dipak Das, who is a infamous drug smuggler in the bordering area under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 (NDPS Act) and will produce him before a local court for interrogation to get the details of trans-border smuggling network.
