Sourav Ganguly, Jubin Nautiyal to attend closing ceremony of Unity Promo Fest on Dec 12
Former Indian cricket captain and Tripura Tourism brand ambassador Sourav Ganguly will attend the grand closing ceremony of the Unity Promo Fest–2025 at Swami Vivekananda Stadium, Agartala, on December 12. The event will also feature a live performance by renowned Bollywood playback singer Jubin Nautiyal.
Addressing a press conference at the Geetanjali Tourism Guest House, Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury said the Unity Promo Fest is an annual initiative of the Tripura government to showcase the state’s tourism potential on a global platform. The festival, which began in Dhalai district on November 8, has received an overwhelming response this year, he added.
Chowdhury informed that Ganguly will share the stage with Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha and other dignitaries during the closing ceremony. As many as 122 tour operators from 28 states, along with representatives from four countries — Thailand, Malaysia, Myanmar and Bhutan, are scheduled to participate in the event. Last year, 78 tour operators attended the fest and interacted with the Chief Minister. This year too, the visiting operators, including international delegates, will hold a session with the Chief Minister to explore opportunities for expanding Tripura’s presence in the global tourism market.
Highlighting the government’s commitment to boosting tourism, the minister said that Tripura achieved the second-highest foreign tourist footfall in the Northeastern region last year, after Sikkim, as per data from the Ministry of Tourism.
Chowdhury added that a massive turnout is expected for the closing ceremony, which will include Jubin Nautiyal’s performance and various cultural presentations by local artists. Tripura Tourism has already begun distributing free passes in three different categories to manage public entry.
Speaking at the press meet, IG (Law and Order) Ipper Manchak said elaborate security measures and proper traffic arrangements have been put in place to ensure a peaceful and smooth celebration on December 12.
