State-level Shastriya competition inaugurated at Central Sanskrit University
The state-level Shastriya Competition was successfully inaugurated on January 15, 2026 at the Central Sanskrit University, Ekalavya Campus, Lembucherra, under West Tripura district. The two-day event will continue till January 16, 2026.
The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from students representing various Shastras, aiming to promote classical Sanskrit learning and provide a platform for students to showcase their scholastic talents in Shastriya subjects.
The inaugural programme was held in the auspicious presence of Dr. Suman K.S., Associate Professor of Tripura Central University, who attended the event as the Chief Guest. The programme was presided over by Prof. Makhlesh Kumar, Director of the Ekalavya Campus.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Suman K.S. lauded the efforts of the organizers and emphasized the significance of preserving and promoting India’s rich Sanskrit heritage. In his presidential address, Prof. Makhlesh Kumar encouraged the students to remain dedicated to Sanskrit studies and highlighted the role of such competitions in fostering academic excellence.
The inaugural programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Nagpati Hegde, faculty of Vyakarana, while the event was anchored by Mr. Loknath Panda, Faculty of Vedanta.
