STF achieved major success, seized large quantities of dry Ganja from bordering Jatrapur

The anti-narcotics Special Task Force (SFT) of Tripura police on Saturday achieved a major success and recovered large quantities of Cannabis (Ganja) hidden under soil at bordering village Thalibari under Jatrapur police station of Sepahijala district.
Police sources said that based on the secret information a contingent of STF along with police personnel from Jatrapur police station raided the house of one Shibu Paul at Thalibari village, who was locally a known drug smuggler.
Sensing the raid of SFT, accused Shibu Paul managed to escape from the spot and during search at his house, recovered five barrels of dry Ganja from the courtyard of his house, which were hidden inside the earth. The police dug up the ground around the house and seized the dry ganja in plastic drums and brought a total of 178 kilograms of dry Ganja to the police station.
While giving a detailed account of the incident ,, Sub-Inspector (SI) Pritam Dutta of Jatrapur police station said that it was a a major success of the STF. He said that it takes about one and a half to two hours to dig up the soil to recover the hidden drugs. But there was no obstruction from the people around or any obstacles.
However, Sub-Inspector Pritam Dutta said that a case has been registered against Shibu Paul under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985, section. He also said that the police have started investigating to arrest accused drug smuggler.
