Strengthening ADR in the Northeast: NLU, Tripura signs MoU with AIIMAS, New Delhi

Marking another milestone in academic collaboration, the ADR Research Centre of National Law University, Tripura has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Association for India International Mediation and Arbitration Services (AIIMAS), New Delhi on 11th September 2025. The MoU aims to promote collaboration in the field of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) through joint research, mediation practice, training, education, and outreach in alignment with both national and international standards.

The partnership envisions the organisation of ADR training programmes in both online and offline modes for diverse stakeholders, including local communities, government officials, lawyers, judges, academicians, corporate professionals, and other practitioners in Tripura. It also facilitates internships and mentorship opportunities for NLU Tripura students at AIIMAS twice a year, accommodating a minimum of four and a maximum of eight students per batch.

This collaboration marks a vital step towards advancing ADR education and practice in the region while creating new academic and professional opportunities for students and practitioners. The MoU was jointly signed by Prof. (Dr.) Yogesh Pratap Singh, Vice-Chancellor, NLU Tripura for ADR Research Centre, NLU Tripura, and Adv. K. K. Mukhija, Director, AIIMAS, in the presence of Prof. (Dr.) Nachiketa Mittal, Registrar, NLU Tripura and Director, ADR Research Centre.
