Thief raided at Ram Thakur temple in Indranagar, looted all valuable items
Amidst growing stolen incidents in different parts of the state, in another daring theft, unknown thieves had raided a Ram Thakur temple at Indranagar area of Agartala on saturday midnight and looted all valuable items from the temple including cash from deposit box.
Police sources said that on Sunday morning when some followers of Ram Thakur temple of Jagatpur Kalibari area along with a caretaker lady entered into the temple premises, they found the lock of the main gate was broken. They found all the doors of the temple were also broken and thieves had looted valuable items from the temple including the gold footprints of the Thakur, cash from the donation box and other accessories for the worship including utensils have also been looted by suspected thieves.
Later, a large number of the devotees of the temple gathered at the spot and they informed the police of the incident. Police rushed to the spot and they verified some local CCTV footage and found that one thief covered his mouth with clothes and entered the temple premises on Saturday midnight and looted all valuable items from the temple.
Police sources added that they have registered a specific case and started investigation to identify the accused thief.
