A Baptist church at Narayan Kami under Jirania police station in West Tripura was burgled during the night, with thieves making away with the church's music system and an LPG gas cylinder.
According to reports, unidentified miscreants broke into the Narayan Kami Baptist Church under the cover of darkness and stole the valuables before fleeing the scene.
The theft came to light on Saturday morning when the church was opened by Deacon Jiten Debbarma, who discovered the missing items and immediately informed the police.
On receiving the information, a team from Jirania police station rushed to the spot and launched an investigation into the incident. Police are trying to identify the culprits and recover the stolen property.
Speaking to the media, Deacon Jiten Debbarma expressed concern over the incident and shared details of the theft. Local residents also voiced apprehension over the increasing incidents of burglary in the area, urging the police to strengthen security and take stringent action against those involved in such crimes.
