Third National Lok Adalat disposed 3,596 pending cases
The third National Lok Adalat for the year 2023 organized on Saturday across the state to resolve 15,271 pending cases and among the pending cases only 3,596 pending cases resolved with collection of settlement amount of Rs. 4.5 crore.
The Member secretary Tripura State Legal Services Authority (TSLSA), Sabyasachi Datta Purokayasta that based on the directives of National Legal Service Authority, a total of 71 courts of Tripura including High Court has set up across the state to resolve the pending cases of motor vehicle act and appeals cases, NI act, matrimonial cases, civil and criminal compoundable cases, service matter, consumer forum cases , family disputes, bank’s non-performing asset case, disposal of Traffic Chillan cases etc.
Datta Purokayasta added that altogether 15,637 pending cases have been taken up in courts for disposal including 7,467 pre-litigative cases taken up in the 71 courts across eight districts of the state including in Agartala.
Among the pending cases, a total of 3,596 including 2,769 pending cases and 827 are pre-litigative cases were disposed in the Lok Adalat, said Datta Purokayasta and added that total amount of Rs. 4,05,34,250 has also collected as settlement amount.
