THRC resolved 94.36 % registered cases in last seven years

In a significant achievement, the Tripura Human Rights Commission (THRC) has resolved 94.36 % of registered cases in the last seven years.  A total of 390 cases registered from the year 2016 to till November, 2023 and have resolved 94.36% of cases (368).

Highlighting the success rate of the Commission, chairperson  Justice (retired) Swapan Chandra Das said that the Commission has registered 390 cases from 2016 to till November , 2023 and among these cases, 270 cases have been registered by people and the Commission has taken up 120 Suo-Moto cases. Justice SC Das said that so far the Commission has also resolved 368 cases.

The chairperson speaking with media persons during a sit and draw competition organized at the Commission office to mark the celebration of International Human Rights Day of December 10 next, Justice Das said that the sit and draw competition has been organized for the students of two age groups including 8 to 12 years and 12 to 16 years.

He said that the Commission continues its endeavour to protect the rights of the people belonging to the poor and deprived sections with protection rights for children, students and women. Justice Das also said that the Commission has also organized a slogan competition among the students of colleges and universities with the title of ‘protection of human rights’ and on December 10 during the observance of International Human Rights Day at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan, the winners of these competitions will be awarded.
